Cabbage Varieties that I've used so far; Racer, Sugarloaf When to sow; Hot All year round Warm All year round Cool Spring, Summer, Autumn Location; Sunny position (well prepared soil) Sow; 12mm (1/2 inch) In seed tray and keep moist. Transplant when seedlings are large enough to handle. Spacing; about 40-60cm apart. Germination; 6-10 days Harvest; When the heads are firm and small, time depends on how good your soil is. Tips; Prepare you soil well before planting with organic matter and blood and bone works very well. What luck have I had; The flavour of home grown Cabbage are hard to beat and if you have the room they are well worth it. You will find them very easy to grow just watch out for snails and caterpillars.
