Pumpkin

Varieties that I've used so far; Butternut

When to sow; Hot All year round Warm Spring, early Summer Cool Mid Spring, early Summer

Location; Sunny position

Sow; 20mm (3/4 inch) Direct into ground, sow 3-4 seeds in mounds.  Later thinning to two strongest plants in each mound.

Spacing; 1 metre apart.

Germination; 6-10 days

Harvest; About 14 weeks.

Tips; Keep the water up and feed once a week or as often as you like.  When picking leave some of the stem on the Pumpkin and they will keep for up to 6 or more months.

What luck have I had; The first time I grew these I knew that I'd grow them forever, I don't think you can do a lot wrong with them, they are very easy to grow and with just a couple of mounds it will feed a household of 2 for the rest of the year.
