Radicchio

Varieties that I've used so far; Palla Rossa

When to sow; Hot Autumn, Winter, Spring Warm All year round Cool All year round

Location; Sunny well drained position

Sow; Just below the surface, in seed trays with seed raising mix.  Transplant when about 3-4cm high and keep moist.

Spacing; about 30cm

Germination; 8-12 days

Harvest; About 10-12 weeks.

Tips; Put as much organic matter in the soil before transplanting and water in some fertiliser each week for best results.  If you don't keep the water up they will end up hollow rather than nice and tight.

What luck have I had; Planted the a few years ago and didn't have much luck will be planting them again this year now that I know a bit more about them.
