Varieties that I've used so far; Sugar Baby

When to sow; Hot Spring, Summer, Autumn Warm Spring, Summer Cool Spring, Summer

Location; Hot, sunny well drained position

Sow; 12mm (1/2 inch) Direct where they are to grow, or for a early crop can be grown in seed trays and transplanted when strong enough.

Spacing; rows about 80cm to 100cm apart; groups 40cm to 50cm apart.

Germination; 6-10 days

Harvest; About 12-14 weeks.

Tips; To encourage side shoots, pinch out growing tips at 5/6 leaf stage and make sure you prepare the soil well with organic fertiliser.

What luck have I had; Only started growing them last season and can't say they are great but at the same time can't say there not, I'll be giving them another go this year but adding a lot more organic matter to the soil.
